Challenge 200!
Mercy Rescue Trust was formed to support the work of the baby rescue centre in Kitale, Kenya. The centre currently cares for 21 children under the age of 5 in a deprived region of Kenya and was named after the first child "Mercy" rescued by the centre.
The cost to maintain the house for the children and pay for the staff, electricity, water, food, medical and school fees is over £2000 per month. Less than half of this amount is through regular donations. We now aim to find 200 regular donors of at least £5 per month each to secure the care for these children.
£5 is not a huge amount of money to us but it can make a big difference to the children at the house. For example, if the water supply fails (which it does!) £5 can pay for bottled water for a few days.
